Traveling with Monica makes you feel like an international jet setter! My partner and I have not had the opportunity to travel internationally that often, so when booking a trip to Egypt we quickly felt out of our depth. Monica made our entire trip seamless, comfortable, and exciting! She negotiated great prices on tours in Luxor, The Great Pyramid of Giza, all our accommodation needs, and travel logistics. Her knowledge of Cairo and the surrounding area, Egyptian culture, and excellent communication throughout the planning process set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic experience.

Trip Summary

This trip is for someone who wants to experience the true magic of Egypt, which includes the ancient pyramids of Giza and a small village hidden in the middle of the Sahara. After experiencing the chaos of Cairo you'll journey off the beaten path to an extraordinary desert oasis that is truly one of Egypt's most underrated destinations – Siwa.

You will be picked up from the Cairo airport and taken to your beautiful, authentic hotel with a stunning pyramid view! You will have a dinner boat on the Nile River for delicious traditional Egyptian food and music. This will be an amazing start of your trip!

Wake up with the sun and a breathtaking view of the Pyramids of Giza while having breakfast at your hotel. This will be one of the most memorable days of the entire trip! You’ll receive guided tours of the 3 famous Pyramids of Giza (Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure) and the monumental Sphynx up close with an optional camel ride through the desert. You will stop for a delicious lunch and head to Saqqara, which has the oldest complete stone pyramid in the world, the Pyramid of Djoser. Then you will hit up the Dashur pyramid followed by the open-air museum in Memphis City where we’ll witness the impressive statue of Ramses II. Later, you will meet for dinner in the bustling downtown of Cairo at a famous authentic Egyptian restaurant. There, you can enjoy hookah at a nearby cafe, check out the nightlife, or head back for a restful sleep!

Last day in Cairo before heading to the desert! After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you'll head to Old Cairo to visit the Salah El Din Citadel and The Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, one of the most beautiful mosques in the world with intricate Islamic art. You will have lunch and explore a famous souk called “Khan Al Khalil” where you can check out some incredible handmade goods, grab some souvenirs, get henna tattoos, enjoy some classic Egyptian food, and the optional hookah! You can head back to the hotel and pack up before heading to the bus station at night in preparation for a long, yet completely worthwhile journey through the desert!
